Matrices

A Draft has an associated list of Matrices which can be accessed from the Draft Objects table on the Draft home page. This page displays the list of Matrices for the Draft.

Matrix list

From the Matrix list you can:

  • Create a new Matrix

  • Edit an existing Matrix

  • Delete a Matrix

  • Create an "All Forms" Matrix

  • Create a "Merged" Matrix

  • Select one or more Matrices and apply/remove Labels

  • Select one or more Matrices and use the Test Data Advisor to generate test data for each Folder/Form combination in the selected Matrices.

Creating All-Forms and Merged Matrices

The "New Matrix" button contains two sub-options to create All-Forms and Merged Matrices.

An All-Forms Matrix is created from all active Forms. These Forms are all added to the SUBJECT folder. This type of Matrix is typically used as a target for PDF Generation in Rave Architect since it shows the layout of all Forms.

A Merged Matrix is created by merging the Folder/Form combinations of existing Matrices.

The 'Include AddForm CheckActions' option will examine active Edit Checks with AddForm Check Actions:

  • if a Folder is specified in the action target then it will add the Form into the Matrix using the Folder in the Action Target,

  • if the Folder in the action target is wild-carded and the target has a Form specified then TrialGrid will search all Matrices for the action Form and include the Folders it finds for that Form

  • if the Folder and Form in the action target are wild-carded (a variable-only target) then TrialGrid will find all Forms containing Fields using that variable and will then search all Matrices for those Forms, including the Folders it finds for those Forms.
